GEOMETRIC LUXURY WORLD OF ART-DECO

With the end of the war, the creative intellectuals rushed into luxury and fashionable interiors. There was a need in a new format for decoration of the premises. So, a new style was born and formed - Art-deco (it is also called "Ar Deco").

 

In modern interior Art-deco style you can see the stylistic characteristics of Empire, Modern and High-Tech. But there is something in Art-Deco that allows it to stand out from a set of similar styles:

• Geometry in space design: straight parallel, intersecting lines, zigzags, circles, triangles and squares can be represented on the ceiling, walls, on the floor, on furniture. Where there is geometry, the Art Deco ball rules;
• Art deco does not withstand any fakes and substitutes: the interior uses only declared high-quality natural materials; if the desktop is tightened with snake skin, then it is the skin of the snake, and not its artificial counterpart; crystal chandelier and sconces with a gilt base and only Bohemian crystal; Art deco and an economical budget for its creation is an unacceptable phrase; there, where it is economically, there is no Art Deco;
• items made from rare expensive natural materials: furniture covered with natural crocodile leather, ivory door accessories and silver inlays, natural zebra skin on the floor instead of a carpet;
• Color of the room is created on the basis of a contrast of dense fresh flowers: traditional black and white confrontation, gold and black, white and sapphire, milky and the color of bitter chocolate.

Paints "hidden in geometry of a drawing" form a style of the interior. For example, a bedroom decorated in Art Deco can be spaced by close in scale, but with contrasting golden-beige lines, whose effect will be enhanced by properly placed mirrors and crystal lamps. Color contrast "hidden in shape" will gain a refined ease, a feeling of airiness and cleanliness of the space.

 

Experts suggest to choose dark colors for the living room or study room. A combination of walnut and ivory colors looks good. One can decorate the walls with polished natural wood panels, arrange leather furniture with ivory inserts, crystal lamps based on ivory, textiles on the windows like the strips of light and dark primary colors. Several items of decor - a picture, a stylish statuette will finish the room decoration. You may choose dark gray and purple colours, in contrast to them select black, white, silver, gold.

In Art Deco it is possible to take as a basis even not combined paints. For example, red and green. But you will necessarily need a neutral base for them - gray, white or black.

Classic colors in the Art Deco style:

• Lines of different thicknesses;
• drawings with geometric figures: circles, triangles, squares, rhombuses;
• print of animal colors: zebra, leopard, tiger;
• plant motifs: long stems, interlacing vines are used for textile objects.

Art deco interior design is a brilliant style. In a figurative and direct sense. Shine  in the design is made of glossy, polished, lacquered components. Mirrors, polished marble items, poured floor, stretch glossy ceiling, lacquered wooden parts, metal surfaces.

Furniture in Art Deco style is simple and convenient, but has an expensive respectable look.

 

In the living room the central place is given to a soft group - a sofa, armchairs. It is always accompanied by a tea table made of natural marble, glass or precious wood. Furniture is upholstered with genuine leather or exclusive thick fabrics.

In the bedroom the central place is given to a huge comfortable bed with a high luxurious headboard.

Art-deco kitchen is equipped with the latest technologies. It has everything you need for a comfortable cooking and subsequent cleaning. Also in the kitchen of Art Deco there must be accessories of a respectable house: a wine cabinet, a sideboard with expensive utensils and elegant porcelain ornaments.

In the Art-Deco style bathroom, the central place is given to a modern comfortable bathroom on chrome-plated legs or on a marble pedestal.

Art Deco windows are made depending on a chosen direction of the decor - classical, modern or historical. Drop-down curtains from expensive heavy dense fabric with or without multi-layered lambrequin. Light curtains of neutral color or stylish modern rolls. Choice of window design is up to an author of the room design.

Reflective light in Art Deco floor is created by such materials:

• glossy coarse tiles made of natural stone;
• from natural parquet;
• poured floor.

Walls are the background for stylish decor. They are decorated with such types of finishes:

• liquid wallpaper;
• natural stone;
• panels made of natural wood;
• textured plaster;
• coloring;
• high-quality wallpaper with original print.

Ceilings can be made with a unique stucco, they can be multi-level with and without lighting, stretch glossy, mirrored, with original painting. Art-deco accepts any of the presented types of design. In the center of the ceiling it is usually installed a chandelier, which sets the tone for the entire ceiling surface.

Textiles in the presented style does not play a dominant role. It serves as a complement. Therefore, quiet neutral colors are chosen, more often monochrome, less often with a discreet drawing.

Decor items are an obligatory attribute of the style. Pictures of different modern schools, art photography, sculptures and statuettes, original vases, forged candlesticks, mirrors in the corresponding expensive frames.

The original decor in Art Deco is large exotic tub plants. They fit harmoniously into the space of a large hall, a spacious living room, a study room.

Lighting plays a major role in the formation of the Art Deco style. Wall sconces, floor lamps, ceiling chandeliers and lamps, table lamps are designed to illuminate the room, give rays to play in the shiny reflective surfaces of interior items and, of course, create an enthusiastic charm of exquisite style.
